Dénuement et opulence
(Bareness and opulence)

A statement of the opposition between poverty and wealth, and the increasing gap witnessed all over the planet. This may also be seen as an evocation of the natural dualism of two states of one being, such as the unavoidable contrast between the peaceful minimalism of winter and the exuberant profusion of summer.

This diptych was first presented within a group show entitled Dialogue, by members of Engramme at the Edinburgh Printmakers, Edinburgh, Scotland in 2012. The show was also presented at the Engramme gallery, Québec city, in 2013.
